8th GIN GRAPHIC HUMOR COMPETITION/ Spain  2018

The GIN Foundation (Humoristan) and the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humor (IQH) call the 8th GIN Graphic Humor Contest.
PARTICIPATION: Anyone who wishes to participate in the contest, both individually and jointly between screenwriter and draftsman.
HUMOR AND THEMATIC: The works presented must have a humorous intention. The theme is free.
FORMAT AND EXTENSION:
The presentation will be in paper or digital. The work must be published on paper: vignette, strip, comic page ... Maximum size: A4. For digital format, it should be sent in JPG at 300dpi.
LANGUAGE: Works are admitted in any of the official languages ​​of Spain. Those that come from outside of Spain and contain text must be labeled in Spanish.
Nº OF WORKS AND ORIGINALITY:
Each participant may submit a maximum of four proposals. All submitted works must be unpublished.
SHIPPING:
The deadline for delivery of the works is December 9, 2018.
Originals, reproductions and works in digital are accepted. The works that will not be returned, will become part of the fund of the Graphic Humor Documentation Center of the Quevedo Institute of the Arts of Humor (IQH) of the FGUA. In the case of the originals, the author who wishes may request a donation certificate.

Next to the work, the following information must be specified: Name and surnames, telephone, date of birth, complete postal address and email.
AWARDS:
The Graphic Humor Contest GIN consists of 3 prizes, which have the following economic allowance (gross): 1st prize: 600 euros 2nd prize: 400 euros 3rd prize: 200 euros The awarded works will be published on the websites iqh.es and humoristan.org.
JURY:
The jury of the graphic humor contest GIN will be chosen by the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts of the FGUA and by Humoristan. The jury reserves the right to declare any of the prizes void or to propose another nominative distribution. The decision of the jury will be made within a period of 2 months after the deadline for submission of papers. The verdict will be communicated to the winners and published on the websites iqh.es and humoristan.org.
Participation in this contest implies acceptance of these rules. The organization reserves the right, if necessary, to introduce those modifications it deems necessary for a better functioning of the contest. The organization is not responsible for the works submitted to the contest.
The best works will be part of an exhibition that will be held in the first half of 2018 in Alcalá de Henares,  organized by the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts of the FGUA and the GIN Foundation.

- One (1) entry per cartonist only
- The entry should be (8.5x11), jpeg, CMYK, and minimum of 300 dpi
- The entry can be colored or black & white

4- Selection
- For Open Category, only 100 cartoons will be chosen for exhibition

- Submitted entries maybe use for promotional poster / video of the exhibition
6- Recognition
- No monetry reward will be given, however, a digital certificate of recognition will be given to the official exhibitors

The Ministry of Culture in Egypt, in cooperation with Egyptian Caricature Association organizes, The 6th International Cartoon Gathering.Eligible Participants:
• Opened to all artists from all over the world above 18 years of age.
Theme:
1- The Culture (Book - Cinema - Theater ...).
2- Caricature (Naguib Mahfouz).Technical Criteria:
• All artworks to be prepared at 300 dpi.
• Size A3 (297mmx420mm) in JPG format.
• Entries: Max. 5 cartoons.
• Submitted works can be in color or black and white, in any style or technique.
• Submitted works must not violate copyright laws.
• By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own and permit the organizers have full right to reproduce all or a part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.Submission:

International Cartoon Competition Fax for Peace , Spilimbergo / Italy 2019

It is open to students of all grades and types of schools and to professional artists from all over the world.

They are required to submit one or more works developing the themes of peace, tollerance, fight against any form of racism and of defense of human rights.
Each competitor may take part in two ways:
1) Fax [number fax +39 0427 40898] or e-mail, JPG format max 1,5 Mb

2) Send SHORT FILMS AND CARTOONS of maximum 5 minute lenght that could also be forwardedin compressed format to the following e-mail address

The videos can be shot/ made in the most common formats (AVI, MPEG, Real Video, QuickTime, Video for Windows ecc.).
When
Works from each competitor (individual artist, student or class) will be accepted starting from Sunday November 25th 2018 at 8.00 a.m.
until Thusday February 28th 2019 at 12.00 p.m.
Exhibition
On each work it is necessary to indicate full name, name of school and grade/class (if students), telephone and fax number and/or e-mail address, city, country. 
The works will be exhibited as they are received in an “in progress” exhibition which will open on Sunday 25th November, 2018 at 5.00 p.m. at the Istituto Superiore di Spilimbergo - Il Tagliamento (via degli Alpini, 1 - Spilimbergo, Pordenone, ITALY).
Single students will also have to specify their school address and the class attended. Competitors implicitly authorize the school to reproduce and use their works in the catalogue and in different media for no-profit activities. 
The organization cannot be held responsible in case of theft, damage or loss of the works. Works will not be returned or retransmitted to their authors. The exhibition will close on March 31st, 2019. 
A catalogue will be printed reproducing a wide selection of the works received after / following up, which later will be sent to competitions free of charge, previous formal request.
The Jury
The jury of experts in communication, art critics and representatives of the school world will select 6 works among those received within the expiry date, according to their development of proposed themes and their effectiveness.
